found this in an old 1940,s cook book, and lost it for about 4 years.
I found it again last night and had to do it today. I think you all
will love it too.
DOWN HOME APPLE COBBLER
FILLING:
6 to 8 Gala apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup brown sugar,
packed
1 1/2 teaspoon corn starch
1 1/2 teaspoon
cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1 cup Red Hots ( candies
)
1/4 cup butter
TOPPING:
1/2 cup butter,
softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups
rolled oats
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
extract
