Camping is not over yet! And I use this one on 1 day picnics. It is easy and tasty. I will change it up some times to bologna ring, kielbasa, or a very high quality hot dog.
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
8 tablespoons ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/8 teaspoon red pepper (cayenne) optional
10 each hot dogs
In a 12" dutch Oven, combine first 10 ingredients to make sauce. Cut each hot dog into three (3) Place in sauce. Cook for about 30 minutes, or until sauce is slightly thickened. I use about 9 charcoals on the bottom, and 16 on top. Serve with Cole slaw, pork'n'beans, potato salad, or corn fritters.
