1 1/4 teaspoons salt, divided
1 frying chicken, cut into pieces
2 tablespoons butter
1 12-oz can Orange Crush Soda
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon mustard
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of the salt evenly over the chicken. Melt the butter in a 12" dutch oven, deep, and brown the chicken in dutch oven over 12 to 14 charcoals, turning to brown evenly. Remove chicken to upside down lid, tint with foil to keep worm. Combine remaining ingredients in same oven. Cook over same heat, stirring constantly until it is thickened. Return browned chicken to oven, spoon sauce over all the chicken. Cover and place 18 charcoals on lid, and cook 30-40 minutes. or until internal temp is 170d.f. Spoon the Orange Crush Soda glaze over the chicken several times during cooking.
