Dutch Oven Mahogany Chicken Wings
These wings are very tasty and a little smokey*. Great for a camp side lunch or even a dinner with other campers. They will be back to your camp to have you teach them how to Dutch oven cook. You may even see them at your next D.O.G.( Dutch oven gathering ).
10 to 12 chicken wings
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup honey
¼ cup molasses
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 Tablespoons Homade Chili sauce©
2 Tablespoons smoked Paprika
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 garlic cloves, minced
Cut each wing at joints to make 3 pieces; discard tips. Place chicken wings in a mixing bowl. Mix remaining ingredients ; pour over chicken and toss to coat. Place bowl with chicken in your ice box for 1 hour, turning occasionally. Remove wings from marinade; reserve marinade. Place wings in a single layer on a round rack in a 14" Dutch oven. brush with with more marinade. Place lid on oven. Place oven over 12 charcoals and 18 charcoals on lid. Bake 30 minutes brushing occasionally; turn. Bake 20 minutes more. brushing and brushing this side as well; until deep brown and juice of chicken runs clear when poked. Discard any remaining marinade.Serve with Ranch dressing, mustard sauce or a good garlic sauce.
* the smokiness comes from the Smoked Paprika.
