HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Today is a great day to do some dutch oven cookin' and have your dad and family, and friends over.
May be try: Mystery Pudding

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 #2 can fruit cocktail and syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Sift together, flour, sugar,and salt. Combine flour mixture with egg, fruit cocktail and syrup from fruit cocktail. Mix thoroughly. Spoon batter into a 10" greased dutch oven. Combine brown sugar and nuts. Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 about 45 minutes. 8 charcoals on the bottom, and 12 on top, until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.

D.O. Barbecued Chicken

2 chickens, cut up
2 onions, diced
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 3/4 cups water
2 1/4 cups catchup
2 cups Chili Sauce
Some drops of liquid smoke. To your taste

In a 12" deep dutch oven saute onions until clear. Add all ingredients, except chicken. Mix well. Simmer over 12 charcoals for 15 to 20 minutes, uncovered. Add chicken and bring back to a simmer, you may need to remove 2 or 3 charcoals, and add them on top with ,maybe 2 more, and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours covered, or until chicken is tender. Keep sauce for a few days,in refrigerator and cook again till hot,and replace chicken with Kielbasa, or ribs.
